Substance abuse involves taking legal or illegal drugs, or drinking alcohol, in a manner that causes harm, buries or numbs emotions, inhibits an individual’s appropriate daily functioning, and/or negatively impacts relationships, careers, physical health, or finances. These substances may include alcohol, tobacco, cocaine, marijuana, heroin, methamphetamine, prescription medications, and more, all of which can be detrimental to multiple aspects of an individual’s life.
At Owen Health Care, we offer individualized treatment for any and all of these substances. We strive to help our clients learn how to deal with their emotions, cravings, thoughts, and triggers to prevent future relapse and stay on a healthy path to self-discovery. We work with our clients to set appropriate goals for treatment, and encourage our clients to find what techniques works for them.
Our licensed clinicians take a variety of approaches to treatment, tailoring therapeutic interventions to each client they meet with. Some of these approaches may include motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness, strengths-based therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
